This session is intended to provide ideas on how to improve your freelance business and possibly build it into a translation company. We will start by providing an overview of the industry, earning potential as a freelancer vs. a translation company, advantages and disadvantages of each, skills required for each type of business. We will also work through an outline of a complete business plan for freelancers and translation companies.

In an effort to provide time for networking, we have made arrangements for delivery of box lunches at an extra cost ($15.00) If you prefer to go out for lunch, a few nearby restaurants are open on Saturdays.

Project Management Leah Ruggiero
What are the essential tools for successful management of a translation project? We will explore some effective project management processes that are used throughout business and industry, and then look at their specific applications to translation. Role playing and group discussion will complement the lecture presentation. Your active participation in this workshop will reward you with new skills that you can apply immediately for positive results in your daily work.
