Benefit from expert guidance through the Mentoring Program
Translators and interpreters who are new to the profession may request to be paired with an experienced colleague who can provide career development guidance, typically lasting for about six months. Participants are free to determine their own frequency and means of contact. The mentoring program is not intended to be a substitute for formal instruction in the techniques of translation or interpretation, and the mentor is not obligated to review or correct the work of the mentee.
Prepare for and take the ATA Certification exam
The New York Circle of Translators works with the American Translators Association to schedule sittings of the ATA Certification exam. As a member, you will receive notifications of exam sittings as well as access to information sessions about the exam and how to prepare for it.
Receive financial support for your professional development
The Charles M. Stern Autonomous Grant provides funding to novice translators and interpreters who are Circle members and who wish to participate in professional development activities but need financial assistance to do so. As a member, you will receive notifications about the Grant as it becomes offered for qualifying activities that help you grow.
Memberships to the New York Circle of Translators run for one calendar year beginning on January 1 and ending on December 31.
