Connecting with Clients Here and Now
Covid-19 has brought tough times any New Yorker knows. And with the global economy set to worsen for at least the next six months, no self-employed linguist anywhere can afford to sit tight and wait. This presentation looks at concrete moves that translators and interpreters should be making now to get through the turmoil that inevitably lies ahead.
Here are some references if you like to read before the webinar – a panel discussion “Facing the next four months” that Chris Durban, Ros Schwartz, and Tony Parr did recently for BP20+.
Participants are also encouraged to submit questions in advance to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Chris Durban is a financial and business translator based in France, working from French to English for a portfolio of demanding clients. She translates every day and enjoys it immensely. A member of SFT (Société française des traducteurs) and a Fellow of the UK’s Institute of Translation and interpreting, she co-organizes SFT’s biennial summer school for financial translators (UETF) and is an instructor on the “Translate in…” series of seminars, designed for translators intent on fine-tuning their writing skills to break into the premium market. She has written many articles and is co-author of The Prosperous Translator and 101 Things a Translator Needs to Know.
Presentation to be followed by Q&A.
